Freelance Copywriting:Web

Effective web content writing needs to appeal to impatient people. You get a few seconds to engage, then they're gone. I use lessons learned from direct mail copywriting: Sell benefits. Make your point quickly. Break up copy into readable bites. Use subheads. Give the reader some value added information, not just selling messages. (See my Copy How To's section for an example). When choosing your keywords and keyword phrases — pinpoint them carefully and keep the list brief.

Something else to think about — your business or organization's persona: “Develop a site personality. It is important to create a distinct, consistent, and memorable site, and an important component of that goal is the tone or voice of the content….Is the personality fun and playful? Or is it solid and conservative?” *

To follow this advice you have to dig down deep to find the essence of your product or service, hard work — but worth it. I can help.
